Jivewires 1989-2010 All Rights Reserved
Since the inception of the band The Jivewires have produced four albums of original
music by principal writers Kurt Walther and Steve Berndt. The music is written in
the satyrical jazz influenced R&B based style of the late 1940's and early 50's
sometimes referred to as "jump blues" or "jive" music. The band has a tradition of
recording live off the floor in the same manner that music was recorded in that era.
The one exception to this is the first album "No Vacancy" which was recorded in
the studio and built from bed tracks.
Another exception is a "cover" album of all the Louis Jordan tunes that we have learned over the years. As Mr. Jordan's music is the bands' main influence, we decided to record a tribute album of our arrangements of his material that we played many, many times on the road in our travels. We have yet to mix, master and release this album but it is in the can.
A fifth album, tentatively titled "Drive Me Sane" is in the works for 2010.
